Bill Hewlett, 25, and Dave Packard, 26, sign the informal agreement that creates the HP partnership, based in a one-car garage on Addison Avenue in Palo Alto, California. This building is now designated, “the birthplace of Silicon Valley.” A coin toss decided the order of names.
